Equipment Settings

Aloka 500

External Settings:

  • Magnification at 3.5x
  • Overall gain 90
  • Near gain -25
  • Far gain 2.1 
  • Focus zones 1 & 2
  • 17cm (tick marks) across the top of your image

Internal Settings:

These are accessed by using the Menu button.  Restart the machine after any changes are made.

  • FrmCo- Frame correlation turned to AUTO
  • Cont- Contrast set to 4
  • AGC- Set to 1

Precautions:

Never attach or remove the probe from the Aloka with the console attached to a power source. It's also recommended that you don't power up the Aloka machine without the probe attached. Failure to follow these precautions can result in damage to your machine.

Aquila

External Settings:

  • FPS- adjust to 17 from 12 (the image should fill the width of the screen)
  • Focal zone 2
  • Overall gain 225 (+/-2) making the range of operation 223-227
  • Near gain 100 (+/-2) making the range of operation 98-102
  • Far gain 100 (+/-2) making the range of operation 98-102
    (Please note: these gain settings will fluctuate, but realize if you haven't moved the knobs, the settings have not been changed)
  • Image direction R (the reversed R button on the lower right changes this setting)
  • Dnf should be highlighted. (this can be reviewed in the probe menu)
  • 17cm (tick marks) across the top of the image
  • 15cm (tick marks) along each side of the image

Internal Settings:

Using the roller ball, scroll down to probes and select. A large menu of settings will appear. Dnf, Automatic focus, and Total image focus should be selected.  Reverse and upside down should not be selected.

  • Dynamic range 56 (max)
  • Gray map 2
  • 2D output 9 (max)
  • Image size 100 (max)
